Our client recently moved to an assisted living place in Cape Cod from a home she lived in for over 30 years. She was very enthusiastic about moving, as she is now wheelchair-bound and looking forward to downsizing to an apartment.
Peaceful Place Home Organizers worked with Grace Life Care, an elder care management company, to make the transition as easy as possible for our client. They have referred several clients to us in the past, and we were happy to assist again.
We managed all of the packing, marked what furniture our client was taking to the new place for the moving company, and helped our client go through paperwork and decide what was important to take to her new place.
Because our client was wheelchair-bound, she hadn’t been to the second floor of her home in quite some time. With the help of our client’s elder-care case worker, we quickly determined what the client needed and wanted to take.
The organizer, Jill, brought all the clothes in good condition down to the first floor so our client could go through them and decide what to keep. All of the items that our client was moving to assisted living were staged in the breezeway of her home to make it easier for the movers and less stressful for our client.
Moving Day
Peaceful Place Home Organizers supervised the truck loading on moving day, met the movers at our client’s new apartment, and supervised the unloading by the movers.
Our main goal was to not overwhelm our client; we made the furniture, clothes and toiletries the priority on moving day. Because of the efficiency of the movers and our organizers we were able to have the client completely unpacked and settled by the end of the day on moving day.
